I grew up with parents that emphasized travel. My parents were professors and taught a study abroad program in London each summer. My sisters and I got to tag along, and I fell more and more in love with travel. I brought my boyfriend, now husband, on one of these trips. We are high school sweethearts and started dating at 17. He fell in love with travel too, and we saved our money each year to take an epic trip to Europe. My favorite part about traveling is learning about myself as I explore somewhere new. I truly feel like it opens your world in so many ways. I find that when I travel I develop a new sense of appreciation for the world around me. I prepare for a trip by mapping out the route of the top sights we'll see. I like to have a plan. Despite the fact that I now live in Europe, I'm always concerned I'll miss something. So I try to figure out some of the best things to see, do, eat, and explore and put them on a map so when I get there, I can navigate easily. I may not do a lot of things well in this world, but I can pack. I carry-on everywhere I travel. I had just one backpack for a 22-day excursion in Southeast Asia. I wrote a post on the ultimate guide to packing like a travel blogger. And I truly feel that most people over pack. Less is seriously more when you're jumping from city to city.
The next trips I have planned are to Belgium for my most favorite music festival in the world, Tomorrowland. This will be my 4th time going! It's one of the best and most intricate dance music festivals you can attend (highly recommend!). Next, we plan to go to Austria (Vienna, Salzburg) and then Mallorca for a beach trip. One of my favorite places I've ever been is Greece. I was just so enamored by the incredible history and stunning scenery. I don't think you can beat the beaches in Crete or Santorini.
