When should I post on Instagram? How many posts should I post a day? What times are the best? These are the many questions we hear every single day. Here are a few tips that we've learned along the way.
Did you know that consistency is key? Imagine the thousands of followers you have all over the world. They wake up and go to bed at different times, so not everyone will see each post. It's vital that you are active on Instagram, especially when you're building a following or you're a brand selling/promoting products. We've monitored power Instagram users and they usually post anywhere from 3-10 times a day, from 6am through 1am, or every 2-3 hours. If you are a big brand or Instagram user, we recommend posting about 1-4 times a day. The amount of posts should depend on the amount of followers you have. If you have a smaller following, post at least once a day. Only bigger accounts and influencers should post more than 3 a day. They key is to be consistent. Be mindful of when the East Coast and West Coast wakes up, not to mention the rest of the world.
Most important times we've observed: • Between 7:30AM - 9:00AM EST weekdays(Instagram users usually wake up and check Instagram first thing in the morning while they're still laying in bed or getting ready for work.)• Around 12PM EST weekdays(This is when the West Coast is just waking up and East Coast is going out for lunch.)• Around 10PM EST weekdays(After dinner when the East Coast is lounging in front of the tv or getting ready for bed, while the West Coast is getting ready for dinner.)• Between 10AM - 11:30AM EST weekends(Weekends are slower, more relaxed. people sleep in and check Instagram before breakfast/brunch.) It also depends on the industry you're in and the type of followers you have, so keep that in mind. Vital times to post for one person may be completely different for another. Instagram serves as a daily inspiration platform, so people go on Instagram for visual inspiration. Don't be negative, unless it's funny! Content is king, so don't post just to make your quota for the day. One beautiful and engaging post is better than 5 uninspiring ones.
