3 Ways to Utilize IG Stories During the Holidays

    If you're not utilizing Instagram Stories for your business, you really should be since it's a perfect way to engage directly with your audience. The holiday season is finally upon us, so we wanted to put together a list of creative ways you can utilize your Instagram Stories to drive engagement during this time of year.

    1. Takeovers

    A great way to promote your brand without coming off too much like a salesperson is to have someone take over your Instagram Stories. Takeovers provide your audience with a different perspective of your brand. Invite someone to guest host your takeover and provide them with the specifications you're looking for them to cover. For example, we love how Laura Mercier has been inviting influencers to take over their stories, recently their takeovers have been geared towards the holidays by having the individual taking over their Instagram Stories share their favorite products from Laura Mercier that would make the perfect holiday gift. Not only are these Instagram Stories Takeovers incredibly informative, but they can also lead to direct sales if you include a link for your audience to swipe up and purchase the product that is being featured.

    2. Collaborations

    Collaborating with influencers or other brands is another creative way you can utilize your Instagram Stories to your advantage during the holidays. Work with another brand or influencer and assist you in reaching a broader audience. We love how Anthropologie recently worked with @halfbakedharvest to share a few recipes just in time for Thanksgiving. In their Instagram Stories, they shared multiple images of a table setting which featured a few of their products which they made sure to tag. They found a perfect way of promoting their products in a natural way, and they provided their audience with useful information in the form of recipes. This collaboration felt natural and is an excellent example of how your brand an efficiently market your products in a creative way that will still appeal to your target audience during the holiday season.

    3. Giveaways & Promo Codes

    Giveaways are a proven way to increase your engagement - they're a fun way to give back to your customers, and they're a great way to gain new customers as well. Organize and launch a holiday-themed giveaway or contest within your Instagram Stories. Be sure to make the rules very simple and clear - if giveaways are your thing you can always share an exclusive promo code in your Instagram Stories for your customers to utilize. While the giveaway wasn't holiday themed, it's important to mention since they did a great job of promoting the giveaway within their feed and their Instagram Stories.
