1. Be intentional
It's easy to get overwhelmed with all of your new goals and plans. One way to simplify and create more productivity is to be intentional about what you plan on doing. When making your goals or resolutions, ask yourself "why" and "how" and then write down necessary steps to take to achieve them. Breaking your plans down into smaller pieces will make them feel more attainable and less daunting.
2. Plan smarter
Having a plan makes everything so much easier. Make sure to leave room for flexibility and be prepared for things to change. Once you have a plan, you'll be able to get things done more efficiently; even if something goes wrong along the way.
3. Discover something new
The possibilities are endless depending on what you're interested in, but the important part is to broaden your horizons and become more well-rounded. The less inward-focused we are, the more we start paying attention to other people and the world around us. That's where true change begins.
4. Make a change
Is there something in your community that you would like to see changed? Do something about it! You'd be surprised how much one person can make a difference. Stand up for what you believe in and take a step towards change.
5. Stay positive
All of the negativity in the news and media can start to bog you down. Try to focus more on the positive. This could include writing down an encouraging quote and putting it on your desk, going to lunch with an uplifting friend, or listening to your favorite song. There are plenty of ways to incorporate more happiness and light in your day, which will have an effect on everyone around you. Positivity is contagious, pass it on.

People often forget how good reading is for you. It opens up your perspectives, gets your mind off of stress, and improves your focus and concentration. With the amount of time we spend looking at screens, it's healthy to put your nose in a book now and then.
7. Don't procrastinate
